Two different grow-out culture technologies are emerging at European RAS shrimp farms.
One is clearwater and the other leans towards a microbially managed biofloc.
The water can be made clear via a variety of different methods as it can be moved towards biofloc by other methods.
Both are zero discharge RAS technology capable – as should be for EU markets and regulations.
But which is “better”? Seemingly hybrid biofloc comes out less expensive in opex.
But why?
Reduced growth to 25 g in clearwater it seems.
But why?
