The water can be made clear via a variety of different methods as it can be moved towards biofloc by other methods.
Both should be zero effluent discharge RAS so as not to fall foul…
Looking at the life cycle in nature:
… until seed (PL) size it is pristine clearwater and full strength seawater.
….once PL the picture becomes somewhat murkier. Shrimp seed move into the protective environment of estuaries and mangrove forests. Here there stay until ready to go out to sea…anywhere around the 20-30g mark.
Not clearwater at all in estuaries but nutrient rich – similar to the water found in a microbiome managed system leaning towards biofloc.
